# Analysis of the Causes of Crystal Vibration Stopping

In the case of encountering things, it is necessary to divide it into two. For the crystal oscillator, it is no exception. The crystal oscillator should be analyzed from different angles inside and outside. Below we analyze the crystal oscillator stoppage with internal and external factors.

There are many engineers who are encountering problems. The crystal oscillator is on the circuit board, it will start to vibrate for a while, it will not vibrate for a while, or it can work normally with a blower. At this time, I began to wonder if there is a problem with the crystal oscillator. In fact, we cannot conclude too early, we must grasp the core of the problem and make a correct judgment.

Materialist dialectics refers to a philosophical approach to the study of nature, society, history, and thinking. In fact, it is to tell us that in the event of encounters, we must divide it into two. For the crystal oscillator, it is no exception. The crystal oscillator should be analyzed from different angles. Below we analyze the crystal oscillation by internal and external factors:

1. Exclude the bad condition of external components, because the external parts are nothing but resistors and capacitors, which makes it easy for you to identify whether it is a defective product.

2. Exclude the possibility that the crystal oscillator is not a vibrating product. Here you will not stop the test by testing only 1~2 crystal oscillators.

3. Eliminate the possibility of line errors, so try to compare them with the recommended circuit of the corresponding model line.

4. The capacitance at both ends of the crystal can be changed. The crystal can work normally. For the size of the capacitor, please refer to the instructions for using the crystal. The matching capacitor is very important.

The crystal itself is caused by chip fragmentation, excessive impedance, poor frequency, and insufficient crystal traction to cause excessive parasitic reactions. Or on the circuit, the dispersion of the stray capacitance caused by the load capacitance or circuit design or processing is large, and the voltage across the crystal is insufficient, which will also cause the crystal to stop vibration!

If you encounter such a problem, first check the frequency parameter of the crystal oscillator and the resistance of the crystal oscillator within the required range, if it is within the required range; secondly, check whether the soldering temperature of the crystal oscillator will be high, resulting in the crystal oscillator For secondary damage, the temperature of the soldering is generally required to be around 250 degrees or lower, and the maximum temperature is not more than 300 degrees. If these are within the requirements, then it is necessary to consider whether it is a problem with the entire microcontroller circuit.

Detecting the crystal parameters and adjusting the soldering temperature can be easily done. If the problem of the single-chip circuit can be solved by the solution provider, then the crystal oscillator will be leaked. The crystal oscillator will also have such a problem in wet weather conditions. It is recommended to replace a better quality crystal.
